Saturday June 18th saw Rockwood FC present a cheque to the Township of Guelph Eramosa Mayor Chris White. The Township has approved plans for the extension of the existing Rockmosa Park which will include walking trails, a community garden, dog park and among other things, much needed new soccer fields. The youth soccer club, which currently boasts more than 500 members including 3 teams playing in Elite divisions and 9 playing at the Rep level, is desperately short of fields on which to not only play matches but practice also. To supplement the Township funding and enhance the facilities with features such as seating, fencing and lighting, the club is actively building a Field Development Fund.

Mayor Chris White toured the facilities amongst a carnival atmosphere on Saturday, despite the heat; activities included the U4, U6 and U8 divisions as well as a league match for the U9 and U10 Girls Rep teams and training by 2K Soccer. Pictured for the cheque presentation are (from left to right) the Technical Director Aaron Kerr, Club President Stephen Hunter, Alysha and Karl from your local Acton BMO branch (Premier Club Sponsor) and Mayor Chris White.
