Nailbiter game for U15 Rockwood Boys in London tournament

The U15 Rockwood Boys entered into the L5 Division at the Nor’West Annual Tournament Aug 04-06 in London, Ontario.

There were 7 Teams in the Division and every Team played 2 Games on the Saturday and were afterwards Ranked from 1 to 7 to set up the Quarter Finals for the teams Ranked 2 to 7. The #1 Ranked Team got a Direct Spot to the Semi-Finals.

Rockwood played their first Game against Sarnia FC Nationals and controlled most of the play which resulted in a 2-1 Win.

Game #2 was against Windsor SC Fury which turned into a Hard Working affair. Windsor put pressure on Rockwood from the start but Rockwood defended well and saved 2 Goals from going in by Heading the Balls away on the Goal Line. A quick counter attack when 10min left of the game and Rockwood was up 1-0 which ended up as the Final Score.

Rockwood was the only Team with 2 Wins from Day 1 so they were Ranked as #1 and got a Direct Spot in the Semi Finals for Sunday.

In the Semi-Final Rockwood ended up playing Windsor SC Fury again and it turned into a Nailbiter. It was an even affair that ended in a 0-0 Draw so it went into Golden Goal Overtime. 5 Mins in a Windsor player goes down in the Rockwood Penalty Area and Windor is awarded a Penalty Kick which they scored on.

The Boys worked Hard and had a Lot of Fun over the Week-End and came away with a Great Experience
