Rockwood FC is very pleased to announce the appointment of Aaron (“Azza”) Kerr as the RFC Technical Consultant, effective August 1st, 2015.

In making this appointment, RFC recognizes that in order for our soccer program to grow and develop it is essential that we add personnel who will add a significant level of soccer knowledge, skill, professionalism and passion to the club and its’ players.

“Azza” is a former full-time professional soccer player with over 20 years playing and coaching experience in both England and Northern Ireland. He was originally signed, as a youngster, by Wolverhampton (English First Division) for their Academy and Club. He has played for the Northern Ireland U21’s team against such countries as Germany, France, Poland and Switzerland. He has also played for Walsall and Rotherham Utd. In 2010-2011, he signed as a player/coach for Ards FC, Ireland and that season won 3 awards – Club Player of the Year, Directors Player of the Year and Fans Player of the Year.

In 2013 “Azza” came to Canada where he joined No Tippy Tappy as Head Coach where he oversees all aspects of youth soccer from training, coach training as well as leading summer soccer camps. He has also been a familiar face at Rockwood FC especially on Saturday mornings where he leads our U4 – U8 development program.

As Rockwood FC Technical Consultant, “Azza” will initially focus his attention primarily on the development of our Rep Program with the key goals being:
• Development of coaching skills
• Player development
• Strengthen RFC presence within the competitive soccer scene
• Foster a passion for soccer for all participants

As these goals are achieved, it is expected that there will be an ongoing “trickle down” effect through all levels of soccer within Rockwood FC which will significantly enhance the overall soccer experience for all our players.

Please join us in wishing Aaron every success in his new role as we continue to build Rockwood FC into the club we can all take pride in.
